Central Carolina Academy
A Replication of Chatham Charter School
Central Carolina Academy (CCA) is a newly formed charter school for grades 6 -12 that will be located in Lee County, North Carolina. CCA will offer a unique educational experience designed to enhance intellectual growth and promote participatory engagement.
In the fall of 2020, the NC Charter School Advisory Board recommended Central Carolina Academy (CCA) to the State Board of Education for consideration and approval as a replication of Chatham Charter School. In April of 2021, final approval was granted by the NC State Board of Education for CCA to initiate the Ready-to-Open planning process. The Board of Directors named Greg Batten as its lead administrator in June. Additional information will be posted throughout the planning process.
Central Carolina Academy will open in August of 2022 for grades 6-10. In subsequent years, grades 11 and 12 will be added.
